A green velvet jewelry box. The jewelry box (b) has an entirely velvet exterior and opens to reveal a removable green velvet cushion (a), with two string loops to hold the jewelry in piece, as well as the white silk interior of the top half of the box. The white silk has "Diamond Merchants Kinnear D'Esterre Kingston" printed in black ink onto the centre.
Kinnear D'Esterre was a jewelry shop in Kingston that opened in 1906 and closed in 2004. This box held cuff links commemorating the tercentenary celebration in Kingston in 1973.
The Kingston Tercentennial was a commemoration of the 300th anniversary of Count Frontenac’s landing in Canada around the Kingston area.
