A set of circular metal cuff links commemorating Kingston's tercentenary celebration in 1973. The metal cuff links each have "Historic Past Promising Future" and "1973 Kingston" stamped in relief onto the top. The underside is stamped with "Corporation" and "City of Kingston". The cuff links are each mounted by two delicate columns onto a bullet-back fastener.
The cuff links were made as souvenir pieces for Kingston's Tercentenary celebration in 1973. The cuff links came with a green velvet case that has the markings "Diamond Merchants // Kinnear D'Esterre // Kingston" on the interior of the lid, suggesting they were sold in Kingston at Kinnear D'Esterre. Kinnear D'Esterre was a jewelry shop in Kingston that opened in 1906 and closed in 2004.
The Kingston Tercentennial was a commemoration of the 300th anniversary of Count Frontenac’s landing in Canada around the Kingston area.
