To the left several structures may be seen on a similar elevation, with a corner of Fort Henry visible on a steep rise above them. In the middle ground is Navy Bay and the peninsula on which Fort Frederick and the Royal Military College of Canada stand, showing period buildings. In the distance on the right the Cataraqui Bridge (Penny Bridge) and the City of Kingston are visible.
